Meet the latest addition to Walk the Dog West Bridgford - Nancy the Jack Russell Puppy. Too young yet for walking, we need to wait for all her immunisations before that can start so for now we are both loving the pop in visits for fun, cuddles, socialisation and not forgetting the essentials - toileting and feeding!
At 11 weeks everything is still so new - her whole world is one adventure playground and we need to be careful as anything at dog level presents a chewing challenge! - They are teething after all! It is a good idea to get down to puppy eye level and remove any toxins and potential hazards for example cables. Puppy proofing the house is not much different for those who have had toddlers. Stair gates can come in handy to prevent entry into certain rooms or for the more curious and able those stairs!
Lots of patience will be required, house training doesn't happen overnight and accidents are bound to happen but with consistency and love you will get there!
Indeed Nancy is bringing much joy to her family and to me - I really look forward to my weekly visits, she is changing so quickly.
I will keep you posted in future posts- look out for when we go out on the lead and engage in basic commands and more sociliasation.
