Well what a couple of weeks! From the intense Summer heat peaking at 35 degrees when I actually cancelled dog walks as it was too hot for dogs to be exercised. I offered pop in garden visits/toilet breaks instead. It is essential to be mindful of the heat from the pavements- just place your hand on that paving for a few seconds then remember how long your dog's paws will be touching the tarmac then make that decision as to whether the dog should be walked! Shade and plenty of water are essential to ensure your dog does not overheat.

Then fast forward to the weekend and I was back in my waterproofs dog walking in torrential downpours! However, it was still all good fun!

September dog walking

Do love September - not too hot for the dogs and with the return to school, the great outdoors once again returns to that quieter place...
